Project Description
As in other EU member countries, the present school educational system in Czech Republic takes serious care for handicapped from pre-school care to secondary-school level. The problem begins when the handicapped are graduated. A system of life-long learning for this target group doesn´t exist. Generally, handicapped persons have a more complicated access to information sources. On the other hand their use at the labour market assume really high setting combined with serious theoretical knowledge and psychical resistivity for to be able to eliminate own handicap. That is the reason why missing life-long learning system including re-training courses combined with offers for new opportunities in cultural activities, sports, hobbies, etc, is a problem which has to be solved.
The project consists of 12 activities:
| 1.A special course for deaf electricians finished with graduation exam qualifying aurally handicapped for work with electrical equipment | | 2.Workshops on innovations in the field of computer art and informatics designed for aurally handicapped ICT experts | | 3.Computer graphics and typography for aurally handicapped | | 4.Preparatory courses for hearing impaired secondary school-leavers for study at universities | | 5.Workshops for dramatic art education of aurally handicapped | | 6.Basic course on PC literacy for hearing impaired with seminar regarding news from communication instruments field and seminar for starting enterpreneurship by aurally handicaped | | 7.Licensed courses of hearing impaired coaches of deaf sportsmen at light athletics, swimming and soccer | | 8.Internet platform www.startindenjob.de and www.roadsfromsilence.net (with elements of virtual labour market) focused on the needs and possibilities of deaf people in international context | | 9.Seminars / courses of correct communication principles with hearing impaired individuals including pilot on-line testing of sign language translation centre | | 10.Motivation movies cycle on hearing impaired heroes based on their life stories from Czech Republic Austria and Germany | | 11.An Austrian-Czech sign language glossary for the field of health care | | 12.Czech sign language glossary for the electro field |
