Improved Training and Job Chances for Hearing Impaired Young People

A Project of the Community Initiative EQUAL - with support of the European Union and the European Social Fund as well as the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs

Targets of the Project

Principal purpose of the project is the development and presentation of optimized application strategies for hearing-impaired young people around limited training and employment conditions. The target group should be enabled to deal with existing reservations and receive argumentation aid to emphasize their special abilities. A company network is initiated to support these efforts. An Internet platform, particularly created for the interests of the target group, serves as the medium for information, empiric reports and company contacts. The platform is editorially managed by participating young people.

Support for EQUAL-Targets

The goal of this project in the context of the community initiative EQUAL is to identify existing barriers for hearing-impaired young people searching for apprenticeship training positions and to develop and spread successful strategies for overcoming these barriers.
